Sesa: half a century of Italian footwear

50 years of expertise in the craft of loafers has become a premium brand building its success at Premiere Classe.

The name Sesa stands for 50 years of expertise in the handcrafted production of Made in Italy loafers. Founded in the 70s, the factory long produced shoes for major American brands, exporting local know-how worldwide. But when Marco Perticari took over the business in 2018, the company was in crisis.

“We had just closed our Romanian factory so that we could keep our Italian site, and the company’s DNA. Throughout the years, I’d seen clients come and go, so I thought it was time to invest in ourselves, rather than leave our fate solely in their hands.”

When a maker becomes a brand

This is how Sesa was born, a shoe line conceived, designed and crafted by the heirs of the factory’s founders. Now at its head, Marco Perticari is returning to its roots, with loafers crafted from a decades-long expertise.

The designs are unisex and classic, but with an extra touch of style such as a calfskin version in a cow pattern, or an apple green leather. Each season the range expands with new styles. This time, the brand introduces some hiking shoes and high-top boots for women.

“Little by little, the buyers are getting on board. They are starting to see that our offer is strong, and they can count on our expertise as a guarantee.”

A renewed presence at Premiere Classe

Sesa has been exhibiting at Premiere Classe for four seasons now. For Marco Perticari, this ongoing presence is proof of longevity, and therefore legitimacy.

“The trade show helps us to gradually build our client base, season after season. A buyer who sees us for the first time won’t necessarily place an order, but two seasons later he might. I think it’s a healthy approach because it forces us to live up to their trust.”

Sesa’s credibility is already undisputed, given Marco Perticari’s knowledge of his products. “As a maker, we have a deep understanding of the different leathers, and how to work with them to produce high quality pieces at a fair price.”

Betting on a network of professionals who recognize this expertise, of which Premiere Classe is an ambassador, is the best of strategies to bring Sesa to the top.
