Salce: where bags and object design meet

The Italian brand made its Premiere Classe debut with sharp, desirable bags inspired by glasses cases.

It all started with a pair of glasses. Or rather, with its case. A renowned supplier of eyewear accessories since 1990, Aldo Cafiero launched Salce in 2017, a high-end brand of bags that draws from his expertise in material and metalwork. Its recipe: the right leather, the right stitches, the right metal. The brand draws its name from the street where he started his journey, in the heart of the Dolomites. Connoisseurs will spot the nod to the region in the collections’ color range, from subtle pastel and organic hues to bursts of bright colors.

When the function inspires the form

Glasses cases are practical, compact and solid everyday objects, so perfectly crafted that no one would think to question their design. So why not apply the same standard to a bag? Enter Salce, with pieces made of finely sheathed leather, invisible magnetic closures and handmade stitches. Already well established in Italy, Japan and Spain, the brand made its Premiere Classe debut in October. An obvious choice to introduce its products to international buyers with an eye for sharp designs and quality craftsmanship.

Fashion by ways of design

Which height should a handle be? What curve offers a good grip? These     are the kind of details that made Salce stand out amongst buyers. More than a mere inspiration, the glasses case provided the sparkle that created the brand’s signature: to conceive its products through an object design perspective that puts ergonomics first. As a result, the Pitus bag is as easy to handle as the highest quality case, and the Bianca – one of the brand’s best sellers – feels as comfortable once worn as the armrest whose curves inspired its shape.

A perfect match for Premiere Classe, where buyers and designers gather to share and appreciate their sensitivity to a fashion language that combines high-end design vision and flawless execution.
